Live-in care provider, Promedica24, has become a national member of the Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) supporting its aim to radically improve the lives of people living with dementia.
As part its own Action Plan, Promedica24 will share best practice and meet with other health and social care providers to learn about the latest trends and innovations from across the sector
It will also dedicate itself to training care workers before and while delivering care to help those with dementia as well as ensuring that people with the condition remain in their own home with dementia trained care workers.
Comprised of over 150 national organisations across England, the DAA are committed to transforming health and social care outcomes for people living with dementia by inviting members to share their knowledge and expertise across the board.
Piotr Haładus, Promedica24’s UK Country Manager, commented: “We’re honoured to have been welcomed in as a national member of the DAA. Our collaboration with so many respected social care professionals will only benefit Promedica24 and further improve the high standard of dementia care that we already deliver.
“We work in an industry where each and every one of us care deeply about finding ways to improve the lives of those living with dementia. By working together, we are coming up with new and effective ways in which to raise awareness and effectively respond to the needs of those living with the condition.”
On a regional level, a number of Promedica24’s Regional Partners are already active members of local Dementia Action Alliances, and an increasing number have become Dementia Champions and offer local Dementia Friends sessions.
Currently, 850,000 people are living with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to 1 million by 2025. Promedica24 will join 6,856 members of the DAA, including leading charities, hospitals, Government bodies, pharmaceuticals, royal colleges and wellbeing organisations.
Promedica24 is Europe’s largest provider of live-in care. The support on offer helps to preserve people’s independence for as long as possible, with carers able to assist individuals with a wide range of needs and abilities, in their own homes. Each care package is tailored to meet an individual’s needs and staff are trained to provide more specialist support when required, including dementia care.
